The Printing Press
Final project
The task was to explore a topic in-depth by getting photos and conducting interviews to create a cohesive story. The photos were meant to be taken as if they would go in a magazine.
I created an Adobe Express page to summate it all. You can click on it to the right or click here in case the embed doesn't work.
Spring Break 2024
Midterm project
The only rule: document what you did for spring break through a camera. Mine included a trip to Wamego, a trip to Kansas City, Missouri, a thunderstorm, a couple walks around campus, and a grill out to cap the staycation off.

Overaching project: Astrophotography
I love astrophotography and hadn’t done any in a while, so I went to my great grandma’s house in Wamego where the stars shone brightest.
I really struggled getting my focus right. I got the front of the train coming through the grotto, but my focus was so bad they were unusable. At the beginning of the moon’s ascent it was a blood moon, but again, the focus was so terrible the photos were unusable, and my window for getting those was slim because it quickly disappeared behind the clouds.
A stark white light on the horizon created a bright backdrop for some old buildings. Shot at ISO-1600, 15 sec. and f/4.5.
Stars shine behind one of many trees on my great grandmother’s house. Shot at ISO-1600, 25 sec. and f/3.5.
What could be mistaken as the sun, the moon looked like a ball of fire in the night sky. Shot at ISO-800, 10 sec. and f/4.

Overaching object: Sunglasses at night
Our assignment was to take photos of ourselves throughout the day with an object we use daily. I always have a pair of shades, so I chose sunglasses as my object. I went with rose-tinted aviators so vision was not distorted as much at night and because they look the most like the average person’s ideal sunglasses.
With a six-day bowling schedule, the Wabash Cannonbowl has become a second home for me. Sporting shades like superstar bowler Pete Weber, I shoot a spare with my Brunswick T-Zone Scarlet Shadow. Lighting in the alley is difficult; some heavy denoising and lighting edits were made in Lightroom Classic to accommodate. Shot at ISO-3200, shutter speed 1/125 and a f/4.5.
My editor-in-chief production nights adventures are capped-off with a late-night stroll across campus. Leaving the building, I’m always double checking my bags to make sure I didn’t leave anything and don’t need to make a trip back. Shot at ISO-200, ¼ and f/4.
I have a nice at-home set-up for working, including a second monitor, keyboard and mouse, ring light, and a healthy dose of comfort. Dratini watches me from the ring light as I edit Collegian stories, work on personal videos, rot away watching YouTube and game. Shot at ISO-800, 1/25 and f/3.5.
