The Adorable Squishmallows

Combining all learned techniques for one squishy finale.
The Squishmallow Army is taking over campus. These nocturnal critters, albeit friendly in appearance and soft as a cloud, stare into the soul of those who wander by. All photos taken with the lowest possible aperture for its shutter speed, all pics except for the 10th (ISO 100) taken at ISO 200 and shutter speed varied based on lighting exposure, from 15 seconds for the Wildcat and Memorial Stadium to 1/20 of a second for drinks.

Me and My Car

Self-portrait with my most loyal companion.
Me, my car, and a Midwest sunset on a farm. For this self-portrait assignment, I framed myself looking out with my shades, looking out into the horizon and striking a dramatic pose to set the tone.

Bowling Frustration

Capturing lifestyle; for me and my team, that's bowling.
Dizzie leads the women's bowling team, but much like most bowlers, experiences frustration missing out on a strike. Although grabbing the spare, she could not convert the fill shot into 10. Due to its lighting and perspective restrictions, bowling is one of the hardest sports to photograph, but Dizzie's reaction with the pin left standing in the back tells the whole story.

Caddy the Cadillac

Shooting a product video.
My first car, Caddy the Cadillac, is one of a kind. If I were to make a video for the greatest car model to ever exist, this short Cadillac CTS 2008 would be it.

My Ring and Me

Shooting ecommerce and a themed photoshoot.
This assignment came in two parts: ecommerce and a themed photoshoot. I love the way my ring catches sunlight, so I used it for my ecommerce and took the photo with it on my finger to give scale. I grabbed my favorite desk trinkets for my themed photoshoot, and my mousepad was a nice framing device.

Flowers for McCain

Focusing on the flowers of McCain Auditorium.
Flowers caught my eye outside of McCain Auditorium, and I knew I had to take as many shots as possible to capture their beauty. Another thing that caught my eye in the landscape was a red cylindrical pipe in the garden, and I made sure to include that along with the same specific rose bush in each photo. The photos were taken with a variety of aperture settings, f-stops and shutter speeds to capture different light exposures and depths of field. The photos are raw out of the camera, no editing done.

Night Perspectives

Finding unique perspectives around campus.
Taken on a warm September night, a bright moon filled the night sky. The first shot explores finding a conceptual perspective as I throw a "Go Cats" in front of the moon, the second explores one-point linear perspective and the third exemplifies physical perspective, using depth and repeating patterns showcasing the size of the light poles.

My Walk to Class

Applying basic photography ideas around the university.
All shots were taken on a bright Tuesday August morning. Some of the photos were lightly edited in Lightroom with a Canon EOS Rebel T3i and an 18-55 mm lens.
